Plenty of Crestron homes don't just have a Crestron processor — they have panelized Crestron lighting and shade control: Crestron's own dimmers, relays, and shade hardware, wired into panels and built into the walls of the home. That's not a box you unplug. It's infrastructure.
When a homeowner with that setup asks a typical Control4 dealer to migrate them, the conversation usually ends fast. Most shops can swap a processor, but they can't make Crestron's in-wall lighting hardware answer to Control4 — so their only answer is to rip it all out and rewire, which means opening walls, patching, repainting, and a very large bill. Faced with that, most dealers simply say no, or quote a demolition. Either way, you're stuck.
